JP and in 1885 Chairman of the Board of Management of the
Melbourne Homœopathic Hospital as well as its Vice-President. He had a long history of supporting homœopathy, having attended the 1869 meeting of the
Melbourne Homœopathic Dispensary, at which time he was appointed to the Committee. Described as “an enthusiastic homœopathist and one of the main supporters of the institution”.
