Dr Edward Wheeler was an Irishman, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians.
In her book "Prince Henry's: The Evolution of a Melbourne Hospital 1869-1969", Jacqueline Templeton stated that Dr Edward Wheeler was "an Irish homœopathic physician and member of the Honorary Medical Staff since 1889". I believe that there may have been some confusion between the background of Dr Edward Wheeler and
Dr Henry Wheeler, an English homœopathic physician who was appointed as an honorary member of staff at the
Melbourne Homœopathic Hospital in 1889.
To date, I have found no evidence to support the claim that Dr Edward Wheeler was a homœopath appointed to the hospital.
