In the Biographical Index of South Australians, James Talbot’s occupations were recorded as being “teacher, homœopathic doctor and clerk”, having lived at Peachey Belt, North Adelaide, Virginia and Penfield.

 

He was born on 11 September 1822 in England.

 

In the 1867 edition of the South Australian Directory he was listed as running a licensed school at Peachey Belt, and in the 1876 edition he was running a school at Virginia.
