Son of ES Wigg, who ran a homœopathic pharmacy and helped establish the Adelaide Homœopathic Dispensary.
 
A.E. Wigg’s qualifications were: MD, Brussells 1880; LRCP, London and LRCP, Edinburgh, 1880; MRCS, England and LSA, London, 1880.
 

In 1883 he was listed as being a public vaccinator, Honorary Medical Officer of the Adelaide Children’s Hospital and Adelaide Homœopathic Dispensary.
