In July 1878, Henry Glover purchased the pharmacy of Mr Robert Jackson of Commercial Street, Mount Gambier. Soon afterwards he advertised as follows:

 

H. Glover (Late of Mount Gambier Hospital)

Pharmaceutical Chemist & Druggist

Perfumery, patent medicines

Prescriptions accurately dispensed

Homœopathic Medicines

Horse and cattle medicines.

 

Henry Glover retained the business until his death in 1925, although his only son, Henry Eldred Glover, managed the business for some time before the death of his father.
